Jeremy Kuhles (UK): Jazz Vocalist / Pianist
Jeremy graduated with a degree in Music from Exeter University (UK) in 2003. He began playing professionally in Tokyo in 2010, as the lounge vocalist/pianist at Hotel Claska. Along with regular performances at restaurants, bars and in-store pop-up music shows in Tokyo—including Vulcanize London, Aoyama—he has performed at large events for GQ Japan, the Aoyama Farmers Market and the Sumida Jazz Festival. He continues to play regularly at various venues around the city as part of the piano & bass duo Pop-up-Jazz with Danny Stewart, creating original jazz, pop, RnB, soul and rock arrangements. |
Danny Stewart; Bass, backing vocals, percussion.
From Edinburgh, Scotland, a pro bassist since 2000 having toured and recorded as a session player in London, now residing in Tokyo running Bass Japan Direct, playing out live with various Jazz/Soul/Funk/Fusion acts, composing and teaching in addition to performing as an STR demonstration artist at Music Expos in Japan. In the duo, Danny provides sophisticated percussive grooves for Jeremy to lock in with and soar over. He lays down rhythmic patterns with foot shakers and mouth percussion in tandem with percussive bass playing styles. This creates a rich rhythmic component that people often mistake for being a third member...the invisible percussionist! |
