kanade gen koubou

Stunning high end boutique hand made basses from a two man team based in Ishikawa Prefecture, mid-west coastal Japan. These basses are so beautifully made with gorgeous materials, imaginative designs and color schemes. Kanade is a japanese word meaning to play in harmony and Gen Koubou means String Instrument Workshop. For ease of memorization we just shorten the name to Kanade alone.

 Flexibility is a strength with Kanade, allowing for short, medium and long scale builds in a multitude of materials and styles, all at surprisingly reasonable pricing and a relatively short wait time averaging 6 months.

Kanade always keep a good stock of materials for body, tops, necks and fretboards making the process of selecting materials for your build easy and allowing each customer to know exactly what they can expect.

Kanade have come up with their own way of doing things, such as inset wooden bridges and beautiful hand cut hard wood string nuts. These give the instruments a unique and organic tone and look beautiful

these builds take user experience well into consideration, low actions, magnetic cavity covers, rounded pickup casing and beveled inset bridge detailing.Their standard active circuit is three band with a master tone and bypass switch making for a wide tonal range.
