The marriage of a wonderful sen, Yamaha body and an early Matsumoku made Greco neck.
These, despite being from different brands, have a nice tight fit and excellent neck trajectory for extremely comfortable play and low action.
I fashioned the pickguard from Japanese quilt maple, with the control panel being a hold over from the original pickguard , laminated in black stained walnut.
The truss nut and logo inlay are matching the pickguard so the theme runs throughout. Making for a handsome and sophisticated look with black screws on chrome or chrome screws on black for contrasting, and yo tie in with the black dots and decal.
The pickups are excellent late 80s DiMarzio split coils wired with series/parallel switching for extra tonal scope.
The Greco decal is not the original, it is a transfer , however we maintain that this is an early Greco neck given the tuners, truss cover and nut placement . It is most certainly Matsumoku made, and is an excellent neck with plenty of truss and fret life left.
This bass sets up super low, sounds great and is light weight at only 3.8kg
It is one of the nicest p basses I've put together yet!
