Probably the most destroyed rescue bass I've done to date... 😂 This old Greco came to me with a huge hole in its mahogany body that looked like it had been chewed out by a beaver!
It also had no frets, a missing inlay, and only one of the pickups worked. It seems the tuners are original except for the e string tuner which is from a later high end greco. The bridge also is original.
Anyhow I gave this thing lots of love, new frets, a greco pb750 rear pickup, that I had spare, a custom flame chestnut pickguard and headstock accent, and a relic metallic burnt orange finish. It's been quite a lot of work... But really rewarding to see its transformation!
Pleased to say it now plays great and sounds very cool. It has serious honk on the rear pup, a nasally filtered tone when balanced (like the pb750) , and a deep punchy tone on the front pup.
